Starter
Lets begin to Rehydrate your Starter in 3 simple steps.
1. Rehydration.
- Fill the jar with 50g of room temperature water.
- 1 teaspoon of dried starter flakes. Stir well and let it sit for a few hours until rehydrated.
- Cover the jar with a lid or plastic wrap.
2. Initial Feeding.
- Once rehydrated, add 35g of flour and mix well.
- Cover the jar lightly
- Leave it at room temperature for 8-24 hours until small bubbles appear.
If no bubbles after 24 hours, feed it with 30g flour and 30g water, then wait another 8-24 hours.
3. Starter Activation.
- After seeing bubbles, feed it once or twice more with a 1:1 flour:water ratio.
- Ensure it at least doubles in volume.
- Discard part of the sourdough starter before each feeding.
